playdoh2When you are a parent, you often find yourself having to constantly rack your brains for new, fun activities to do with your kids to keep them entertained (and out of mischief!) throughout the day.

And the tricky part? You always need to come up with something different each time!

Now here’s a fun and¬†inexpensive idea you might like: Make your own homemade¬†playdough with your little ones! Not only is it sure to entertain your kids, but it also leaves them with something new to play with later.

Here’s what you’ll need:

-2 cups of flour
-3/4 cup of salt
-1 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
-1/2 cup water
-food coloring

Place the water, oil, and your food coloring of choice in a bowl. Then, in a separate bowl, mix your flour and salt. Once that’s done, mix your all your ingredients together until properly combined.

Next, dust some extra flour on a flat surface (like your countertop or a chopping board), place your newly-mixed dough on top, and knead until smooth.

And voila!

Store your homemade playdough in Ziploc bags and place in the fridge to make them last longer.
