Lemony Brownies

If you are looking  for a change from the traditional chocolate brownie you will love this easy Lemon Brownie version.  Makes my mouth water just thinking about the lemony flavor of these moist treats.  This is one of the easiest recipes and sure to please all those who indulge.

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt

1/2 cup (1 stick) softened unsalted butter

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons lemon zest

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

4 tablespoons lemon juice

8 teaspoons lemon zest

1 cup powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8×8 inch square baking pan with butter.  Zest and juice the two lemons and set aside.  In a medium bowl beat in the flour, sugar, salt and butter.  Mix until blended.  In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon zest and lemon juice until combined.  Pour into the flour mixture and beat for two minutes at medium speed until nice and creamy.  Pour into baking dish and bake for 25 minutes or until the edges are starting to turn a golden brown.  Allow to cool completely before applying glaze.  Do not over bake.  Sift the powdered sugar and whisk in lemon zest and juice.  Spread the glaze over the brownies with a wooden spoon or spatula.  Let the glaze set before serving.
