Homemade Wood Polish

homemade wood polishMost household cleaning products are full of chemicals (some of them quite harmful) nowadays. Of course there are safer varieties out there–the ones made out of organic, all-natural ingredients–but they can be pretty expensive.

The next best thing, if you’re really serious about going green and reducing the chemicals in your home, is to make your own household products!

Let’s start with some homemade wood polish.

Here’s what you’ll need:

-1 lemon
-2 tablespoons olive oil
-2 tablespoons water
-airtight container

Mix all your ingredients in an airtight container (make sure to strain out the pulp and seeds from the lemon) and shake well.

And that’s it! Keep in mind that since this stuff is fresh, it will go bad very quickly. You can, however, keep it in the fridge for a few days to prolong its shelf life.
